The Purple Heart Exhibit at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History (MSH) is a permanent military history exhibit honoring the men and women of the Coastal Bend who have been awarded the Purple Heart in service to our nation. Unlike exhibits that focus on wars or battles, this exhibit tells the stories of the people behind the medal—our veterans, family members, friends, neighbors, and community members—and preserves their stories of courage, sacrifice, service, and resilience through photographs, military records, personal histories, artifacts, and recorded interviews.

The Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas is proud to be a Purple Heart Tribe and supports this important effort to honor and preserve the legacies of those who have sacrificed in service to our country. We invite you to help ensure stories from our Native communities are never forgotten by nominating a Lipan Apache or other Indigenous Purple Heart recipient, living or deceased, for inclusion in this Purple Heart Exhibit. The nominee must be or have been a member of the Coastal Bend Community.
